specialized container marks a significant milestone for REVEAL!
REVEAL is excited to announce a major step towards its goal of developing innovative seasonal energy storage solutions. The recent delivery of a specialized container to the FOEEN-X (Forschungsplattform für erneuerbare Energieträger Power-to-X) installation in Rapperswil-Jona marks a crucial milestone in the project's advancement.
This dedicated container will house the prototype for the groundbreaking Alu-to-Energy conversion process, a technology being developed by our consortium partner, SPF Institute for Solar Technology. This innovative process leverages a chemical reaction to efficiently convert aluminium and water into pure hydrogen and heat while maintaining a zero-emission footprint.
The successful deployment of this prototype represents a significant leap forward in the pursuit of viable seasonal energy storage. By harnessing the potential of aluminium-based energy storage, REVEAL aims to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient energy landscape.
The REVEAL project is committed to addressing the challenges associated with intermittent renewable energy sources. By developing advanced energy storage technologies, we strive to ensure a reliable and clean energy supply, even during periods of low renewable energy generation.
The Alu-to-Energy conversion process offers a promising solution to these challenges. By enabling the efficient storage and release of energy on a seasonal scale, this technology has the potential to revolutionize the energy sector.
We extend our sincere gratitude to SPF Institute for Solar Technology for their invaluable contributions to reaching our project’s goals. If you want to learn more about the consortium working on making the REVEAL vision a reality, click on the button bellow.
