A major step towards reaching REVEAL's goal of developing an innovative seasonal energy storage solution is the recent delivery of a specialized container to the FOEEN-X installation in Rapperswil-Jona.

On Wednesday, October 23rd the REVEAL project team held a successful Technical Remote Meeting.

FENIX is responsible for developing a strategy to disseminate and communicate project results to the public and stakeholders across the world as well as guiding partners on IPR topics of REVEAL results.

OST is the technical coordinator of REVEAL, focusing on system analysis and Al-to-Energy conversion. This includes simulations of Al-to-Energy-CHP benefits, examining Power-to-Al process capabilities, and analyzing grid services and stabilization measures.

RATIOTHERM, through its vast experience in markets, barriers, and exploitation, is evaluating the Al-to-Energy technology for possible further development to Technology Readiness Level 9.

EH Group's role is to integrate a fuel cell system capable of converting the hydrogen produced by solid aluminum into electricity while producing no greenhouse gases. To that aim, EH Group will provide a 4kW fuel cell system.

Arctus will continue the development of CO2-free aluminium production with vertical inert electrodes in electrolytic cells and laboratory operation of the cells.

SINTEF leads the "Validation of the closed material cycle" and develops a sensor for monitoring the electrolyte composition and the off-gas composition during electrolysis.

NIC is studying the flexibility and opportunities of using Al as a fuel and is responsible for market analysis of excess electricity, as it shares a high potential for low-cost seasonal energy storage.

IceTec serves as the project coordinator, overseeing planning and scheduling to ensure all phases are clearly defined and achievable within the timeline.

PRé Sustainability is tasked with evaluating and comparing the environmental impacts of the REVEAL energy storage system against existing technologies.
