SINTEF
SINTEF is an independent research organization founded in 1950 for industrial and technical research with headquarters in Trondheim, Norway. It has over 2000 employees from more than 75 countries and generates an annual revenue of close to three billion Norwegian kroner.
SINTEF has a close partnership with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and several industries in Norway. The expertise within SINTEF ranges from technology, medicine, and the social sciences.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
In the REVEAL project, SINTEF leads the effort on "Validation of the closed material cycle" and is involved in various other tasks. SINTEF contributes to the administration and organization of consortium meetings and outlines the flexibility and compatibility of the REVEAL power to AI technology, focusing on power modulation. They develop a sensor for monitoring the electrolyte composition and the off-gas composition during electrolysis.
Additionally, SINTEF is responsible for the treatment, characterization, and validation of the aluminium-to-alumina material cycle, provides relevant data for the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and contributes to the dissemination and exploitation of results through publications, presentations, and other promotional avenues.
