REVEAL at Remef symposium 2025
On February 12–13, 2025, the ReMeF Symposium and 3rd MeCRE, co-organized by the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (OST) and REVEAL project, took place in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland. Hosted by OST and the Institute for Solar Technology (SPF), the symposium attracted over 130 attendees from academia, industry, and policy sectors, fostering innovation and collaboration in renewable metal fuels.
The event featured 21 expert speakers from 13 countries, presenting in seven scientific sessions covering hydrogen production, aluminum and iron combustion, and energy storage technologies. Day 2 shifted focus to real-world applications, market integration, and pilot demonstrations, showcasing the transition from research to industrial-scale solutions.
The first day of scientific presentations featured contributions from REVEAL team members Miren Agote Arán (OST), Ivan Jerman (Kemijski Inštitut), Daníel Þór Gunnarsson (IceTec), and Samuel Senanu (SINTEF), who showcased key advancements in our research and innovation efforts. On Day 2, additional work from IceTec and OST was presented by Rauan Meirbekova and Yvonne Bäuerle, further highlighting REVEAL’s role in advancing renewable metal fuels. A highlight of the event was the scientific poster session, where 24 research posters were presented, sparking engaging discussions. One of the Best Boster awards went to a REVEAL researcher Ana Drinčić from Kemijski Inštitut, the second one to Ashley Bock from McGill University. A very important award was also given to our REVEAL colleague, Jón Hjaltalín Magnússon from Arctus Aluminium, for Pioneering in Renewable Metal Fuels Innovation. Congratulations to Ana, Jón and their teams for their outstanding contribution!
