IceTec
IceTec is an Icelandic research organization that offers expertise and specialized facilities, tools, and equipment, with a main focus on activities based on four decades of experience in the fields of materials technology, process technology, renewable energy, and construction technology.
It has well-equipped laboratories for materials testing and characterization, especially at high temperatures and highly corrosive environments like metal electrolysis and geothermal industry.
IceTec has experience as an important partner in both domestic and foreign research and development projects and has been quite active in European-funded projects, both as a partner and as a project coordinator.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
In the REVEAL project, IceTec serves as the project coordinator, overseeing planning and scheduling to ensure all phases are clearly defined and achievable within the timeline. They foster communication and collaboration among team members, organizing and leading regular project meetings. IceTec manages project documentation, including progress reports and final deliverables, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Additionally, they act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, maintaining transparency. Furthermore, IceTec is developing a carbon-free aluminium smelting process based on inert electrodes.
