President of Iceland Receives Carbon-Free Aluminium Bars and Insights into REVEAL Project
In a significant milestone for the REVEAL project, the President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, and her husband were presented with bars of carbon-free aluminium, symbolizing a step forward in sustainable energy production. The bars were formally handed over by Guðbjörg Óskarsdóttir, General Manager of IceTec, and Jón Hjaltalín Magnússon, General Manager of Arctus Aluminium.
During the event, Jón Hjaltalín Magnússon delivered an insightful presentation on the carbon-free aluminium production technology developed under the REVEAL project. The presentation outlined the project’s innovative approach to decarbonizing aluminium production, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and setting new standards for sustainable materials in Europe.
The occasion took place in front of an audience of over 60 entrepreneurs, all of whom have operations within IceTec's premises. It served not only as a celebration of technological advancement but also as a demonstration of the collaborative spirit driving the REVEAL project. The project's commitment to pioneering clean aluminium production directly supports the EU’s sustainability goals and the broader global agenda for reducing industrial carbon emissions.
