REVEAL publishes scientific articles

We are proud to announce the latest publication from the REVEAL research team, led by Miren Agote-Arán, from the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (OST). Their groundbreaking study, titled Al6060 cut wire granules for Al-water reaction: Evaluation of reaction conditions and granule treatments, has been published in the prestigious International Journal of Hydrogen Energy.

In this work, the team explores how commercially available Al6060 aluminium cut wire granules can be used as a safe, cost-effective, and efficient material for hydrogen production through aluminium-water reactions. By carefully examining reaction conditions and material treatments, they demonstrated that these granules can offer high reactivity without the explosion risks associated with traditional aluminium powders - making them ideal for renewable energy storage applications.

The results are not only relevant for researchers but also for stakeholders and the general public interested in sustainable energy innovations. That’s why the REVEAL team, in collaboration with BUILD UP, has published a more accessible version of the article that highlights the key takeaways and implications for the broader clean energy transition. You can find a shorter summary in the BUILD UP article or access the full publication via the links below:

This publication is a motivating step forward in realizing hydrogen’s role in the green energy landscape, proving that even small granules of aluminium can lead to big change.
